Norway's Kvelertak were the band I was most excited to see. They just barely made it to the U.S. after having their passports stolen the day they were to fly out to California for Scion Rockfest. While that was unfortunate, it made last night that much more special because San Francisco was the band's first performance on American soil. Just as Kvelertak almost didn't make it to the states, I almost didn't make it into the venue. Ask anyone there and they'll tell you they've never seen such a long line at Parkside. I just barely made it past the cutoff, and I'm glad I did.
No time to rest, day one of the Oakland Black/Death Fest is tonight.
